Blogdecember Day Twenty-Six

The grandmother clock ticks and the fire crackles, otherwise all is quiet. After yesterday’s lovely family day we are just two again, plus cat. The curtains are closed against the approaching storm and the jigsaw puzzle beckons. We started it yesterday and now time to ponder quietly as the day closes.

After yesterday of much feasting it’s lovely to eat salads and left overs, always my favourite Christmas fare with lots of pickle and chutneys . Just opened a jar of green tomato chutney from 2016 and it was scrumptious, very mature :) The Christmas cake was opened too and thoroughly enjoyed. My new cooker cooked it perfectly.

Edging time on my advent squares. A pale grey wool has been chosen for the last round although I’ve still to decide what the squares will turn into. Once they are all edged I’ll make a decision. I’ve also been delving into a Christmas present ‘Top Down Sweaters’. A new challenge for me to make a jumper in the round. Can’t wait.

So this evening will probably be a little TV viewing catching up on ‘Call The Midwife’ one of my favourite series, especially at this time of year. A very lazy day after all the cooking and cleaning up from yesterday.

How was your Christmas? Hope all is well in your corner ?
